The National Animal Disease Information and Surveillance (NADIS) is Nigeria’s official platform for the collection, validation, and publication of animal disease data — aligned with NADIS global standards.
NADIS tracks the evolution of epidemiologically significant diseases in domestic and wild animals, providing transparent data to support early warning, policy decisions, trade safety, and research.
The National Animal Disease Information and Surveillance (NADIS) is Nigeria's official platform for the collection, validation, and publication of data on animal diseases of epidemiological significance in both domestic and wild species. Access for reporting purposes is restricted to authorised users, namely designated veterinary officers, state focal points, and approved representatives from relevant institutions. Official data are published on the NADIS public interface and made available to the public without restriction for analysis, interpretation, and risk-based decision-making. The information tracks the evolution of epidemiologically important diseases, assists in trade and policy decisions, and informs research, ultimately helping to safeguard national animal and public health.
NADIS is Nigeria’s reference system for official animal health data, providing transparent, validated information on diseases in domestic and wild animals.
Access for reporting is restricted to authorized veterinary officers and focal points. All validated data is published publicly for analysis, policy, and research — contributing to national and global animal and public health security.
When a significant epidemiological event occurs, Nigeria submits an immediate notification within 24 hours, including:
Weekly follow-up reports track evolution until resolution or endemic status. Final reports conclude the event.
Six-monthly reports document presence or absence of WOAH-listed diseases, with quantitative data on:
Annual reports combine data and include zoonoses impact, veterinary capacity, and laboratory diagnostics.
All validated NADIS data is freely available to the public for analysis and decision-making.
