A visionary leader in Nigeria’s agricultural transformation, Hon. Idi Mukhtar Maiha serves as the inaugural Director General of the National Animal Disease Information and Surveillance (NADIS).
Appointed in July 2024 under the National Animal Diseases Control Decree No.10 of 1988, Hon. Maiha has spearheaded the digital revolution of animal health surveillance — launching the NADIS Mobile App, USSD *347# reporting, and AI-powered outbreak prediction across 36 states.
Under his leadership, NADIS has achieved 500,000+ farmer registrations, 92% early detection accuracy, and positioned Nigeria as a continental leader in digital veterinary services.
